PARENTS who hold on to receipts for education expenses may be able to claim a tax refund.

Those eligible for Family Tax Benefit Part A can claim a refund for school uniforms, computers, home internet connections, textbooks and stationery.

The maximum amount that can be claimed for each primary school student is $409 and $818 for each secondary school student.
